The Coesewijne River is a tributary of the Coppename River. It is situated south west of Paramaribo in the district of Saramacca.

An adventures jungle tour for nature lovers with small boats on the Coesewijne River. In this unspoiled area without villages and existing camps every participant has to help building camps, cooking, hauling of the boats etc. Sleeping is done in small tents with inflatable mattresses or hammocks. Here you see a beautiful varied landscape of Amazonian jungle creeks, savanna's, forests and swamps. During the rainy season a great part of the forests are inundated.

Tourprogram

We are on the lookout for beautiful nature, different types of river forest such as swamp forest, flooded forest and riverside creek forest with beautiful bromeliads, epiphytes, orchids and mosses.

In this type of forest different species of monkey do occur, so there is a big chance to see the howler monkey, capuchin monkey and squirrel monkey. During our trekking in the daytime we go out to look for capybara, giant otter and manatee. During the night we look for caiman, night bird and other nocturnal animals. In the river we fish with locale fishing rods and machetes.
