The impressive Blanche Marie waterfalls are situated 300 km south-west of Paramaribo.

It's one of the biggest waterfalls in Suriname with a enormous water drainage in the rainy season. This vast imposing waterfall spans more than 100 meters. It is situated in highland forest, the most beautiful type of tropical rainforest.

All eight monkey species and more than two hundred bird species can be found here. There are various hiking trails who lead for instance to the Eldorado fall in the Nickerie river.
